Borj Chakir is quickly becoming the mediterranean’s largest landfill dworfing a peaceful village called A-Attar, that’s being slowly but surely swollowed by this gigantic monster… Only a cemetery seperates these unequal entities. Trash Cemetery follows the colliding trajectories of Al-Attar community which has been devastated by sanitary-and-ecological tragedies since the landfill opened its doors. Ridha, a 54-year-old singer will be spearheading the fight of the community to close-down the doors of hell. One community’s misery is another community’s joy though and we’ll find-out that the survival of an entire marginalized fringe of the society relies solely on ragpicking objets out of the trash-piles, to sell them on 2nd or 3rd-hand market…
